Set in the dungeons of a futuristic rehabilitation center Gravel must confront his superior officer, Mr. Cod, in order to save his close friend Robbie from becoming reprogrammed.
Synopsis: Set in a future, dystopian reality, Mongrel’s Creed is a short dark comedy about Jim Gravel, a jaded and miserable lifetime employee of the omnipresent “Company,” condemned with the soul destroying task of reprogramming rebellious citizens into more controllable, obedient workers. He finds his limits of moral tolerance tested when ordered by his unscrupulous supervisor to reprogram an enthusiastic, life affirming man-child named Robbie simply for dancing in public. Threatened with expulsion if he refuses, he attempts to carry out the task but Robbie’s persistent joviality and positive spirit increasingly hinders his ability to proceed, much to his supervisor’s mounting frustration. As the threats of punishment become ever more real and disastrous, Gravel must make his decision between obeying an amoral, unjust directive which in effect would save himself, or finding the courage to listen to his conscience and fight to save an innocent man.
