A girl who recently lost her mother to cancer, sets off on an epic journey to find her Dad, whom she's never met.
Synopsis: Welcome to the Macabre World of Lavender Williams! Who's Lavender Williams you might ask?.
Well, she's eight year-old, four feet five and has the biggest imagination in the world.
Her head should be the size of an ocean liner to store all her dreams and ideas. But it all seems to somehow fit in her normal-sized head.
Anyway, Lavender lives with her Mom, Sylvia, in a town called Ethel, Missouri.
Lavender has never met her Dad but always wanted to.
He writes her letters every month and she treasures these letters like dwarfs treasure gold.
Lavender's biggest dream is to meet him. But her Mom would not allow it.
Until one day Mr. Cancer pays a visit and takes Lavender's Mom away.
Lavender is now facing a life sentence at Skimpole Orphanage but she won't take it. Now it's the chance to meet her Dad. And she sets off on an epic journey to find him crossing America on her own. Well, not really on her own. She has a sidekick, self-appointed as her guardian angel: Lester, her late dog who's now a zombie dog and who has returned from the grave to help her. But the journey won’t be easy for them, for the evil presence of Sheriff Murdstone, a legendary child abductor, stalks them at every turn...
